COURTESY OF UTAH SYMPHONY | UTAH OPERA The Utah Symphony | Utah Opera’s 2018 Deer Valley Music Festival will conclude the summer season with Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” on Friday and “The Music of Pink Floyd” on Saturday. 2018 SUMMER FILM SERIES Weekend features Tchaikovsky and Pink Floyd Submitted by the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera The Utah Symphony | Utah Opera will wrap up the season’s Deer Valley Music Festival this weekend with two performances Friday and Saturday night at the Snow Park Amphitheater. Friday’s concert will be Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Orchestra,’ featuring the Cannoneers of the Wasatch, at 7:30 p.m. The conductor will be Connor Gray Covington. Tickets range from $37 to $94. For information and tickets, visit www.deervalleymusicfestival.org. Saturday’s performance will be “The Music of Pink Floyd,” featuring singer Brody Dolyniuk, and conductor Martin Herman. Although Randy Jackson was originally announced as vocalist, travel logistics and scheduling conflicts preclude his performance on this date. The concert will capture the essence of Pink Floyd’s ethereal harmonies and the iconic sounds of one of the biggest rock bands of all time. The first half of the concert will feature a full orchestral performance of the album The Dark Side of the Moon, with popular hits including “Comfortably Numb,” “Another Brick in the Wall (Part II),” and “Hey You” on the second half. Actor and singer workshop offered Billy Huff, celebrity acting and singing coach, will lead two workshops at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Tribe of Kyngs, 4714 S. Commerce Drive in Murray. The workshop will cover callbacks, building a career in Hollywood, preparing 16 bars for singers and audition techniques. Huff has appeared on “Fame,” “Days of Our Lives” and has appeared in multiple Broadway shows.
