Show C-6 The Park Record Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues, January 13-16, 2018 calendar of music & events happening this week Saturday, Jan. 13 Park City Institute Presents Pink Martini Park City institute will present Pink Martini, with special guest Perla Batalla, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Center 20th anniversary party. Pink Martini is known for crossing genres of jazz, classical and pop. Perla Batalla is a Grammy-nominated singer who is no stranger to the Park City Institute. World-music singer Batalla, whose mentor is the late Leonard Cohen, last performed at the Eccles Center in 2015. Tickets range from $50 to $200 and can be purchased by visiting www.ecclescenter.org. Park City Film Series: ‘Lady Bird’ The Park City Film Series will present Greta Gerwig’s Golden Globe-winning “Lady Bird,” rated R, through Sunday, Jan 14, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. Saturday’s screenings will start at 8 p.m. and Sunday’s screening will start at 6 p.m. “Lady Bird” is about Christine (Saoirse Ronan), a senior at a Catholic high school, who argues all the time with her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mother (Laurie Metcalf). The film is partly autobiographical for director Greta Gerwig and set in Sacramento in 2002. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $7 for students and senior citizens. David Bromberg Quintet at the Egyptian Theatre David Bromberg Quintet will perform at 8 p.m. through Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. Saturday tickets range from $35 to $55. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.parkcityshows.com. Snowshoe Tour on the Swaner Preserve The Swaner EcoCenter offers snowshoe tours of the Swaner Preserve from 8:30-10 a.m. every Saturday. Participants will learn about the history of the preserve and plants and animals that can be found during the winter. The EcoCenter will provide the climbing harness, but climbers must wear closed-toe shoes. Climbers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to sign a liability waiver. Fox School of Wine Weekend Wine Series The Fox School of Wine hosts its weekend wine series from 6-7 p.m. every Saturday at the Silver Baron Lodge in Lower Deer Valley, Fox School of Wine professors select five wines based on a theme that changes every week.
