Show The Park Record C-6 Wed/Thurs/Fri, May 17-19, 2017 calendar of music & events happening this week Wednesday, May 17 CONNECT Summit County Kevin Hines: ‘Cracked Not Broken, Surviving and Thriving after a Suicide Attempt’ CONNECT Summit County, a nonprofit that raises awareness of mental health issues, will welcome filmmaker, activist and suicide-attempt survivor Kevin Hines at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. Hines will give a presentation titled, “Cracked Not Broken, Surviving and Thriving after a Suicide Attempt.” In September 2000, Hines jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge and is one of the less than 1 percent who survived. Thursday, May 18 Park City Film Series: ‘What the Health’ The Park City Film Series will present a free screening of Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn’s “What the Health,” not rated, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. “What the Health” is a surprising, and at times hilarious, investigative documentary that will be an eye-opener for everyone concerned about our nation’s health and how big business influences it. The film is from the creators of the award-winning documentary “Cowspiracy.” A post-film panel will feature Dr. Patrick Olson of the Rosenberg Cooley Metcalf Clinic; athlete, fitness expert and Utah Avalanche forecaster Craig Gordon; and Dr Babbie Lester, a naturopathic physician. Nature Walks at the Swaner Preserve Swaner EcoCenter and Preserve EcoHosts lead weekly nature walks on the Swaner Preserve at 8:30 a.m. every Saturday. Sharing your sorrow with others who have experienced similar losses can help.
