The win gave Cedar City fourth place in the Class B tournament and Dixie seventh place. The Flyers got off to a fast start as Richard Hafen went in for a layup seconds after the tip-oat center. Don Miller followed with a pair of foul tosses; then connected for drive in basket and a charity toss before the Red Men even broke in to the scoring column. Flyers Gain Lead Boyd Dover, who played a great game for Cedar City, gave the Keamen tneir iirst pom: on a foul toss, but Dixie ran the count to 13 before Dover was able to up the Cedar City scoring with another bucket and a pair of foul pitches. Reed Heywood and Jerry Farnsworth then Rallied a couple of foul pitches each and Dixie 9 led at the quarter mark. It was much the same pattern in the second quarter although Cedar City managed to close the gap to four points. Dover went under for a lay up, and Heywood found the range on a pair of long shots.
