Show Airline Applies For Scheduled Stops in Provo Provo Chamber ' of Commerce officials today were pushing attempts to get a scheduled airline routed through Provo, following the filing of an application for such with the Civil Aeronautics Board by the Bonanza Air Lines. The airline, which has general offices in Las Vegas, would make daily flights from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles and other coast points, with daily stops in Provo, if the application is granted. A May 1 hearing is set in Phoenix, Ariz., before the CAB. The company now flies as a feeder line Lehi Firemen To Host Utah-Jua- b Association JOSEPHINE ZIMMERMAN LEHI Cy Ross, chief engineer of the Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific, will be the guest speaker Saturday night 'when the Lehi Fire Department plays host to approximately 150 visiting firemen and guests. The occasion is the dinner Utah-Jua- b of the County meeting Firemen's Association, made up of the fire department of Provo, Springville, Payson, Salem, Mammoth, Eureka, Nephi and Lehi. Lehi Firemen are anxious to show off their new fire station, and tables will- be set up in the garage area for the banquet. Dinner will be served under the supervision of the Lehi Firemen's Auxiliary. Although the new station has a firemen's meeting room, it is not large enough to handle the group expected to attend Saturday's meeting. Special invitations have been issued to the mayor and. city councilmen and their wives. Fire Chief John Broadbent will be master of ceremonies at the dinner. Grant B. Smith, president of the Lehi Firemen's Association, is chairman of arrangements, assisted by Ward Glover, n Ned Wilson, Dean Kirkham, Giles and Wayne Allred. Provo would be a regular stop on the Salt Lake to Las Vegas line, and furnish airline connections from here to any of the major airlines of the nation, under the proposal. Bruce M. Ryan, Phoenix, regional sales manager for the line, was in Provo today conferring with chamber of commerce officials. Mr. Ryan stated he will return to Provo at a later date to show films to businessmen and others, explaining the air service and showing contemplated equip ment. . Deliv ery for the new planes is scheduled for September of 1957. It has been five years since Provo had a scheduled air line stopping here.
