He is dying City hospital this A two-ye- ar of cancer. The visit of Santa can't mean too much to the little tyke in his weakened condition and it will be a bleak Christ mas for the young parents who will spend most of Christmas, as other days, lingering at the side of the little bed where their only child lies. Father of the little one is a steel worker and comes to work many days with tears in his eyes. He hasn't told of his tragic circumstances with hospital and doctor bills eating up his paycheck each month. We just happened to learn about it and we are sending to those young parents a freewill offering. The Provo womart who told us about the little boy sent in a contribution. The Daily Herald would be proud to tell her name, but she prefers to remain anonymous. We can't help the little boy, but we can let those young parents know that the Spirit of Christmas still lives in the hearts of men. If you would like to join us in our offering, please mail contributions to "The Spirit of Christmas," The Daily Herald, Provo, Utah. If you prefer to make a direct gift, phone Mrs. Dorothy Rea, 2316-- J or Mrs. Mildred Hall, 773-- J for names of the parents. The kindly doctor who is caring for the little child said Saturday, "We can hope that this little boy will live through Christmas, but those things are not always for us to say." The Daily Herald has encountered many worthy causes each year in the annual project which the This even case reached paper sponsors. deeper than most, for here is a child who could not enjoy toys and good things to eat as can the other little children on lists.
