Yolanda Ferry and Roberta of the Waggoner, brides-to-b- e near future were honored at a smart luncheon recently given by Mrs. Leslie Carle assisted by her daughter, Marilyn at the Carle home. The hostesses had used a color scheme of pink and white carried out in the table appointments. The places were marked with miniature brides in lace veili. The guests played canasta, and the hostesses presented the honored girls with gifts. Guests included in addition to those mentioned: Mrs. Leland Perry, Mrs. Charles Waggoner, Mrs. Lyle Bell, Mrs. Bessie Pope, Mrs. Frank MenseL Mrs. George T. The young couple participated in mar- riage rites on Aug. 26 at Evanston, - I , The new bride is a graduate of Payson high school and LDS seminary where she was a member of the Pep and Dance clubs. Mr. Westphal who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Westphal of Provo is a Provo high school graduate. He was a member of the school band and figured prominently in athletics. There was some square dancing called by Nicki Ashton, a display of the summer hand work, light refreshments were served by the Primary officers Blanche Woodard, Delna Ivie, Maxine Davis and Wilma Gillespie. Mrs. Katharine Boyce enter tained her bridge club Thursday afternoon. Luncheon was served first followed by two tables of bridge. High score prize was won by Beth Ferguson, and second high by Billie Stubbs. LAREDO, Tex,, -- (Janice Jasper) Reception Honors Newlyweds A lovely home reception Friday evening honored Nancy Mangum, daughter of Mrs. William Mangum and Radley Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lewis whose marriage was an event of Aug. 24 in Logan LDS temple. The new bride was lovely in a white slipper satin dress, lace yoke and wispy veil. Her flowers were a madella of pink roses. She was attended by Mrs. Made-ly- n Wells, matron of honor, and Janice Mangum, a sister; Selda Kohler and Annetta Read as bridesmaids. Their gowns were formal in pastel colors with noseMrs. gays of pink carnations. Mangum and Mrs. Lewis wore orchids complimenting their evening dresses. Boyd Rasband acted as best man and Dale Sessions ushered. The rooms were decorated in summer flowers and a beautiful wedding cake adorned the dining table. Mrs. Mae Hide greeted the guests and assisting with the serving were: Mrs. Nell Wood, Orpha Edwards, Madelyn Woot ton, Mary Coleman, Ruth Cowley and Connie Cummings. Delightful music was played by Mrs. Madelyn Wells and Mrs Louise Bullock of Provo and Mary Coleman and Madelyn Wootton of Heber.
