Show Friday, May 1, 2009 D A HER At 0 L Y I A7 Flu Continued from Al Greg Hudnall, director of student services for Provo School District, said there have not been any cases of swine flu in the district, "We're not closing schools as of now," he said. Hudnall said in any public emergency, the school district relies on the direction of local agencies such as the fire and police departments or the health department. If cases are discovered and the health department tells the district to close schools, Hudnall said a school could be closed for up to seven days. However, Hudnall said he does not expect a large district like Provo will close every school. "For us, we always want to err on the side of safety," he a 1 , l : - DAVID RYDERPark . Over the next few days, principals will be keeping track of how many children stay home, sick or otherwise. "It's the parents' right to excuse their student for whatever reason," she said. Should the decision be made to close a school, Bromley said the district will inform parents through several avenues, including letters and automated phone calls. However, the district would only close a select number of its 71 schools in that instance. Nebo School District spokeswoman Lana Hiskey said the district is taking the same precautions, with teachers sanitizing keyboards, door handles and Ughtswitches. Letters also have been sent home to parents about helping their children practice proper hygiene. There are treatments available, however, and each state has received a stockpile of medications for'the disease. Hudachko Said Utah had 55,000 courses available, while the federal government sent an additional 87.000. That is only a quarter of Utah's allotment from the government, he said, but the state will not have enough doses for everyone. However, Hudachko said the general sentiment from public health officials is not to panic, just to be cautious. The people who should stay home are those who are feeling ill. When the window is cleaned, the owl will disappear as quickly as it appeared. But the beauty of the bird's imprint, the speculation, the photos and, of course, the circulating ru- mors as to its whereabouts or demise have given city employees and natrons of the library a lot to hoot about. Richards said though owls hitting windows is uncommon, she hopes the city takes steps to install exterior visual markers to warn other birds that may unknowingly attempt to fly into the library's large picture windows. 601.50 ACCOUNT and SERIAL NUMBER ( 040) 11:017:0060 BARKER PROPERTIES LC 2600 E 9800 SOUTH SANDY UT 84092-424- 3 Total redemption if paid as of 05212009 . . . . . . 51,056.35 ACCOUNT 4 and SERIAL NUMBER 11:008:0003 (040) BARKER PROPERTIES LC 2600 E 9800 SOUTH SANDY UT 84092-424- 3 Total redemption if paid as of 05212009 36,313.42 GREENBELT ACCOUNT ........ 225.40 4 and SERIAL NUMBER (120) CROSS, JERROLDL 1494 S CARTERV1LLE RD OREM UT 84097-723Total redemption if paid as of 05212009 9 ....... 4,200.91 ' 98:025:0008 .
