Last fall an article in The Hollywood Reporter trumpeted that the books have become so popular that many see the series as a contender to fill the hole left in the publishing world by the complee tion of J.K. Rowling's series. Potter" "Harry The third book in the series, "Fablehaven: Grip of the Shadow Plague," has actually been on bookstore shelves since Monday, but publisher Shadow Mountain, an imprint of Deseret Book, is holding a formal launch party for fans of the series at Cottonwood High School in Murray tonight. The party, which begins at 6 p.m. is free and open to the public, and Shadow Mountain expects to entertain around 3,000 fans. Mull, who lives in Highland, will be present to meet fans and sign copies of "Grip of the Shadow Plague." In an interview with the Daily Herald last fall, Mull said that the plot of the new volume finds the main characters fighting against a mysterious illness affecting the preserves that has begun to transform some creatures of light into servants of darkness.
