Show DAILY D4 VerlH"Pete" Petersen Obituaries Gregory Our dear daddy, "D", brother and friend, Gregory B. Smith, "Buggins" lost his battle with lung and heart dis ease early on Sunday morning, March 4, 2007 with his children and sister at his side. He was born on October 12, 1946 to Howard B. and Elma .3.1 "Inie" Bowen Smith and spent the majority of his life in Spanish Fork, Utah. From day one, Greg was a fun, talented, and handsome little boy. He brought great joy to his parents; he was "daddy's little boy" and wanted to be like him in every way. He was a wonderful brother to Sandy, Garth, and Debbie. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He loved to tell jokes, which continued right up until the end as he joked with the caregivers at the hospital. He was very talented. As a boy, he would play the guitar while he and Garth sang together. They were often asked to perform for various groups and events. He also liked to draw and paint, a talent inherited by his son, Kelly. Greg endured many hardships early in life; his father was killed in an industrial accident when which he was only 9 years-old- , left his mother to raise him, his brother, and two sisters. Greg was especially close to his older sister, Sandy, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 1966 along with her unborn child, son, and daughter. He later lost his newborn daughter, Stacy, to a heart defect when she was only a few hours old. All of these things had a profound affect upon Greg and the life he led. Greg began working at Geneva Steel when he was 18 years-ol- B. Wednesday. March 7. 2007 HERALD Verl H "Pete" Petersen passed away 2 March 2007, at the age of 79, after a long fight with cancer.
