By PEGGY WUITWOOD OREM Due to the unprecedented growth and the raise in tax evaluations, Orem has been able to lower its tax rate from 20 mills to 19 making it the lowest bf any large city in Utah County. These facts were reported by Mayor LeGrand Jarman to a crowded room of Orem citizens who are members of various advisory committees at their meeting this week at the city hall. Mayor Jarman also noted the progress of the sewage disposal plant which will be under construction as soon as final plans are approved by the Utah State Board of Health. The plans were drawn up by the Central Utah Engineering Associates. Not Needed The mill levy of four mills allowed for by bonding for the plant has not been needed up to now due to the additional tax money received.
