Springille's failure to find the hoop was her undoing in the game against the scrappy Panguitch crew, while the almost uncanny ability of Henrie, Parowan'g lengthy center, to locate the hoop from any angle on the floor and from almost any distance from the hoop won for his team the game from last year's state The Bpringville boys champions. played gamely throughout the game, fighting every inch of the way, which made the Panguitch victory a . Springville played an entirely dif-- ' ferent game to that of her opponents. Last year's champions made use of short passes to get the ball wider the hoop, while Panguitch Bhot from any place in the hall. The disastrous part of the game Springrille had through snappy direct passing to striking distance It was almost Impossible for the boys to find the basket Time and again they would shoot from the field only to lose the ball to the itrong Panguitch guards who would end it to the other end of the halL After Henrie, who was a show all by himself, had sent In one or two baskets from way past the center line, every fan held his breath or yelled, "Here goes another one" as the lnnky and sure-sho- t center got his hands on the ball. Four times he succeeded in finding the hoop from difficult positions on the floor. The game was by far the snap-niesthe best played and the most interesting of all of the eight games played on the opening day. Not a little enthusinsm was displayed by the Springville rooters and the work of Dick Thorne and Reed Uallin, Springville yellmasters came in for considerable praise and applause from the thousands of visitors present at the game. The "skyrocket" yell was espeoial-- i t pleasing to the fans who clamored for the yell repeatedly. The was that after worked the ball t, yellmasters were very accomodating and featured the yell several times. d Springville was considerably early in the game when in the crip-Ple- second quarter Paul Thorne, the husky guard, was removed on personal fouls. The removal seemed to take the pep out of the Springville players although they soon regained their fight and worked harder than before to come out on the lone end of th score.
