' According to the story told by Marshal Clark, Hupp and Comia brought two Provo girls to a dance in the Springville house opera the Wednesday evening. dance one of the girls was found in an almost unconscious condition iu the ladies' dressing room. Marshal Clark, who was called, discovered that the girl's condition was due to an excessive drinking of iutoxi-cntiuliquors. He carried the girl from the dance to the city hall in where she remained Springville until she had become sober. After learning from the other girl that the two men had been giving the girls intoxicants to drink on their way from Provo to Springville, Marshal Clark made an effort to locate the men but they had already left in their automobile. Watch was kept for them during the week and Sunday morning about 4 o'clock the men were arrested in Spanish Fork and brought here. It was learned by Sheriff Boyd and Marshal Clark Sunday when they examined the girls that the two men had been in company with in Provo Saturday them again evening. At first the girls denied having had liquor to drink but when confronted with the evidence broke down and in the presence of the mother and the officers told the story of Wednesday evening and also told of being with the two men Saturday night. When examined by the officers Hupp and Comia denied ever having had possession of liiuor or of state.
