CITY SCHOOLS (Continued and 1 This afternoon on the field the Brigbam Young university football squad will hav Its initial practice with Coach Alvin Twltchell In charge. Coach Twitch . ell expects all members of, his squad who live in or near Proro to report for work.. The practice will' likely consist of light exercise in kicking, catching punts, forward passing, catching aerial throws and running under punts. The Brigham Young university schedule starts right oft on Octo ber 7 with a game at Provo against the Utah Agricultural , college The following week the eleven. "Y" will journey to Salt Lake City to meet the University of Utah. On October 24 the Colorado Mines will be grappled with at Provo. November 14 the "Y" --will do battle against the University of Wyoming on the Timpanogos field. November 23 the Colorado Aggies will be met at Fort Collins and November 3 Othe church school lads will close the season with a second battle against the Wyoming school at Laramie. The only regrettable thing about this schedule is that the two more important games for the local team come off at the first part of the season when our boys will not be in condition. This was necessi tated fcy the two slate schoolsof- r' at Utah refusing to meet the any other time. They realized that the Provo eleven will be neces sarily weak its first year and they desired to use the game with the "Y" as a practice contest to get their elevens in condition for the harder and more important battles with the Colorado schools. The "Y" on the other hand being compelled to meet the two Utah schools right off the bat will have a hard fight to keep up spirit dur ing the latter part of the season. The interest in Colorado games is necessarily less than those against Utah elevens because the rivalry between the "Y "and its Colorado opponents has not yet developed to the point where it has between the local institutions. But regardless of the fact that the" schedule Is not at all satisfac tory Coach Twitchell realizes that it could not be otherwise arranged and he is determined to put up a game fight against the Utah vet eran elevens. In fact the new ' Y coach has an optimistic hope that the unexpected may happen at the contests and that the B. Y. U. will not be snowed under by the 50 to 0 scores that have been freely pre J need. fore ne is given a crack at Kaliio.
