Mr & Mrs William Silcox entertained at dinner Mar. 11 honoring their grandson, Rodney J. Lloyd, prior to his leaving for a Southern States LDS mission. He Will leave Mar. 30. Active in community affairs, he was a member of Riverton's first town board and justice of, the peace for eight years. - ' Mr Petersen .was' an active member of the LDS Church and served as high priest group leader, Riverton Second Ward; West Jordan Stake; served on high priest quorum' secretary, the West Jordan Stake; agricultural committee and on the first Salt Lake regional agricultural committee of the Church welfare program. He served a stake mission. He was bora Oct. 16, 1888, in South Jordan, a son of Sophia Simonsen Petersen. He married Teenie May McSporran, Oct. 7, 1907. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Survivors include his widow: sons, daughters, Mrs E, (Log-na- ) Heugly, Mrs LeRoy (Glad; ys) Steadman, both of Midvale; Arch M.. He was born Oct. 5, 1876, in South' Jordan to David Reese and Elizabeth Edwards Jones. He married Alice Parry Nov. 23, 1900 in Bluffdale. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She died Apr. '29. 1961. He was a farmer. He also' served as ward teacher, was a ' former choir member, and was a High Priest in the Bluffdale LDS Ward. He is survived by the following sons and daughters: Leslie, Salt Lake: Edward,' Sandy; lleber, Ronald, both Bluffdale; Mrs Samuel C (Birdie) Turner, Mrs Karl (Helen) Molyneux, both Bluffdale; Mrs Reed (Leah) Horton, Murray; Mrs Reid (Marjorie) Henson, Hunter; 31 grandchildren; 40 greata sister, Mrs grandchildren; Mary Ann Simpson, Salt Lake.
