The exercise is scheduled to end Feb. 12. Three battle groups and their supporting units, numbering more than 6,000 troops, were flown to Europe in one of the army's largest peacetime overseas. The 4th, which is regularly located at Ft. Lewis, Wash., is a - major Strategic Army Corps (STRAC) unit. This exercise was designed to provide the participating units with long range mobility training and to test their combat readiness. Winberg, a driver in Company A of the division's 4th Medical Battalion, entered the Army in October 1960 and completed basic training at Ft. Hood, Tex. The soldier was employed by Cudahy Packing Co., North Salt Lake City, before entering the army.
