Show ay, December 8, The Midvale (Utah) Sentinel 1.961 LDOTK ini Section 2 Page 10 CO Ml OKI A Christmas home lighting contest in Midvale has been announced by the Midvale Chamber of Commerce. Every home within the city limits is asked to participate in the contest and help make the city a blaze of lights throughout the holiday season. Awards will be made for the best block of lights, the homes on each side of the street in one block being considered a unit. Every home in the block that has a tree showing from the inside will be counted in the contest, even though outside lights do not appear. The purpose of this contest is to promote Christmas spirit, rather than to make it expensive to participate. judged the best in the city will get prizes for every person living in the unit. Everyone, including the children, will get free tickets to the Burk Theatre in Midvale. The unit addition, there will be individual prizes for the three homes in the city Judged the best decorated and lighted. These three homes which the judges will pick receive trophies. All winners In will receive recognition in newspapers. Judging will be done in the evenings, Dec. Lights 18 and 19. and decorations must be on from dusk to 10 p.m. and must stay up until January 2, 1962. . ' If this contest is to grow and prosper, it needs the full cooperation of everyone. It demonstrates fine community spirit and is evidence to everyone of the fact that Midvale is Ta The great success '' in friendly place to live. Again this year, we would encourage every home in Midvale to display a Christmas wreath and some outdoor colored lights, and those who can to decorate their porches and outdoor evergreens.
