Judy Alleman Elected Secretary Miss Miss Judy Alleman was electat the ed secretary-treasure- r Junior Convention held in Bountiful Saturday afternoon. Miss Alleman is a daughter of Mr & Mrs Arthur Alleman, Sandy, and has been a member of the Legion junior auxiliary for several years. Other officers elected were from Morgan and Bountiful. Junior girls attending the convention from the Unit were Laura Setterberg, who conducted the convention, Karen Setterberg, Shannon, Colleen and Sheila Sullivan, Sheila and Beverly Laws, Glenda Tolman, Nancy Jo and Judy Gunderson, Marilyn tergu son and Miss Alleman. Nancy Jo Gunderson reported activities for the year for her Unit. Mrs Lena Christensen, de partment third vice president spoke to Uie group representing the department. A talk on Guatemala was given and refreshments were served following the musical portion of the meeting. Furnishing transportation to Bountiful wre Mrs Myrta Laws and Mrs thnstensen. Also in at tendance were Mrs Bertha Set terberg, unit junior activities chairman and Mrs Rita Bills. May 28 has been proclaimed as poppy day in Sandy by Mayor Clyde Allan Miller. The sales are under direction of Mrs Wan da Maynard, chairman. Youngsters as well as members of the Junior Auxiliary will also participate in the door to door, and on the street sales. Pack Hold Show Boat Meeting Show Boat is the theme that was used at the Pack meeting held by Sandy Fourth Ward's Cub Scouts Thursday, May 26. At that time plans were made to hold an outdoor Pack meeting June 28. The Pack is also inter- ested in organizing baseball games. The cub league has played two games and are schedul ing more during the summer months. The Sandy Ninth Ward has made final arrangements to start cub scout work in the ward, lead ers recently completed a train ing course. The Derricotts have five children. A past Noble Grand meeting was held at the home of Mrs Hazel Nieholl, Sandy, who was hostess. Mrs Geneva Lewis presided at the business meeting and cards were played with prizes won by Mrs Margaret Ward and Mrs Marie Stuart. Enjoying the company of two nieces, Mrs Lydia Benson. San dy, spent the day recently with l.araine and Elaine Westedt. They enjoyed sightseeing in the area before returning to their homes in Omaha, Neb. The girls had been vacationing in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
