One of the great social experiments in the United States is centered at the Navajo Indian School, formerly the BushneU hospital. The school has grown to an enrollment in five years oi 2,350 persons, with its first graduating class in May 1955. Bear River Misrstory Bird Refuge: Just 14 miles due west from Brisham City on a good road (Forest Street at Brigham City) is the famous Bird Refuge. It is reached from U.S. highways 83 91. and 30. Located on one of the major migratory waterfowl flyways of N'orth America. More than 200 specie of birds are found here in season, including 23 species of ducks, seven of geese, and also many tines of rare and exotic birds including the snowy egret, the sand hill crane, and white pelican. There is outstanding duck shooting in season. Also in con nection with the refuge is a fas cinatine bird hospital which ha; done wonders in fighting the botulism and other diseases. The management of the refuge is alway courteous and helpful to visitors. later Probably there Is no more beau tiful drive in all seasons than the 40 miles through Logan Canyon, on US. 89, from Logan to Bear l.ake. The entire area has been developed for recreational use. with 42 camo grounds and picnic areas with tables, stoves, and pure piped in water.
