BLANCHE DENSLEY, Reporter Phone Mid. 4732 . n Elmer Seal, president of the town board, states that drilling .on a town well was commenced Nov. 10 at the west side of the tank to supplement the water supply which is insufficient to take care of of the town's needs during the summer months. They purchased enough Deer Creek water to supply the needs of the people during the summer and fall of 1954, but it has now been discontinued. The Riverton Motor employes held their annual rabbit hunt at Cedar Valley Veteran's Day, Nov. 11. There were 23 employes and friends went on the trip and report the count later showed 896 rabbits had been killed. Sides were chosen by drawing numbers from a hat, odd numbers team and even numbers team. The side killing the fewest number of rabbits paid for the turkey dinner served to the group after their return to the Riverton Motor, by the local Flower Riv-erto- club. Mr & Mrs Melvin Peterson and Mr & Mrs Roy Steadman and son, Dennis, Midvale, have returned from a two weeks vacation to Houston, Tex., where they visited the Peterson's daughter and family, Lt & Mrs Edward Mann, who are stationed at Ellington Air Force Base. While on their trip, the Utah people visited Carlsbad Caverns. N.M., went aboard the battleship "Texas", went to the top of the San Jacinto monument and visited other points of interest along the way. Mrs Melva Butterfield entertain-eher bridge club at her home Nov. 3. Luncheon was served to 12 members and prizes were won by Mrs Jean Page, Mrs Roberta Silcox, and Mrs Marjoria Dansle. The same club met at the home of Mrs Roberta Silcox, Wednesday, Nov. 17. Mrs Nellie Butterfield returned to her home Nov. 12, after spend ing two months in Seattle, Wash. While there she visited Trussler Butterfield and son, and other d friends. Mrs Mary Egbert, assisted by her daughter, Mrs Barbara Shomaker, in Japan with the Marines. He left this week for Camp Pendleton, Cal. Mrs Mildred Winward is a patient at a Salt Lake hospital. Mrs Noel Page underwent surgery at a Salt Lake hospital Nov. 13. Mrs Barbara Shomaker was guest of honor at a birthday dinner Sunday, Nov. 7, given by her parents, Mr & Mrs Herschel Egbert. Others present were Mr & Mrs Clyde Rad-doMr & Mrs Ralph Raddon, Salt Lake, and Dell Shomaker. Mrs Ardella Snyder entertained at a family at her home Nov. 4. Out of town guests were Mrs Ava Porter and son of California, Mrs Vennetta Snyder, son and daughter, Mrs Florence Keech and daughter, and Mr & Mrs Aaron Garside. Mr Si Mrs Delbert Page and Mr Si Mrs Willard Dansie celebrated their wedding anniversaries Saturday evening, Nov. 13, at a dinner party at the Skillet on Highland Drive, and later attended the show at, a Salt Lake theatre. Those at' tending the party besides the guests of honor were Mr & Mrs Edward Perry, Mr & Mrs Glenn Butterfield, and Mr & Mrs Kenneth Silcox. A family gathering at the home of Mrs Mary Jensen honored Henry Jensen, whose birthday was Nov. 2. After lunch was served to 25, Henry showed colored slides that he had taken during his recent Eun, r ropean trip. Riverton First ward conference was held Sunday evening with Pres. Joseph Butterfield in charge. There were nine stake officers present. Young people called on to speak extemporaneously were Janet Gam-melJoan McFarlane, Cletus Hamilton, EIRay Bridges, Joy Cardwell, president of the Primary, and Doyle Nokes of the Sunday School Other speakers were Harold Berrett; stake pres., Bishop l, party before the boys leave for the services. Highlight of the evening was a scavenger hunt followed by games and refreshnTents. The boys were each presented with a fountain pen. Sunday guests of Mr & Mrs E. M. His topic is the Book of Mormon and there are four remaining meetings. A group of West Jordanites left for Idaho last Thursday to attend the wedding of Barbara Cole to Leon D. Olson, who is 95 years old, was the honored guest and a "This Is Your Life" program was caried out depicting her life. Dancing was enjoyed and refreshments were served to a large crowd. The West Jordan held a meeting Wednesday night at the school library. A program was presented by the children and Miss Alta Miller was the main speaker. Her topic was "Know Your School" after which the film, "Skippy and the Three R's," was shown. Two boys and two girls were among the latest arrivals in West Jordan during the week.
