Mr. and Mrs. Edgar P. Morgan have had as house guests over the Christmas holidays, their son and Mr. and Mrs. Mor daughter ris Morgan and daughter of San Francisco, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Ivor C. Larsen and children, Lynn, Susan and Mark, of Menlo Park, Calif. Mrs. Larsen was formerly Lar Von Morgan. Mr. and Mrs. Alton W. (Tony) Butterfield, son Roger and daughter, Lynne, of Rawlings, Wyo have been visiting with relatives and friends in Riverton and Salt Lake during the Christmas El-dre- d Miss Francine Silcox, the 11 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Silcox, met with a painful accident while skating on the ice on the Little Canal near her home. She fell and struck her head and had to be taken to the Doctor to have several stitches taken in the cut she received. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brenneman entertained at a waffle breakfast on Christmas morning, those present were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond t H. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Withers and family who have been occupying the Mahonri Butterfield home have recently moved to Midvale to live. The West Jordan Stake MIA New Year's eve dance was attended by a large group of young people. A pot luck supper furnished by the various wards was a feature of the evening. Music was furnished by Jack Turner's orchestra. Those in charge of the evenh;gs festivities were YMMIA Supt. Wal ter Mabey, Samuel Turner, and Ross Butterfield, and Pres. Melba Coon, Bertha Hogan and Helen Hamilton. Sgt. Ned Bill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lancelot Bills arrived home on Dec. 21st. He is spending a y furlough visiting with relatives and friends in Riverton and with his wife, the former Donna Mae Brown, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaY'erl Brown in Sandy. Ned has been on limited duty on Treasure Island since being released from the Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, Calif., where he had undergone surgery for wounds received in combat duty in Korea. Sgt. Howard R. Newman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Newman, is spending the holidays visiting with his parents, and other relatives in Riverton. Howard has been station ed in Minot, N. Da., for the past 20 months, where he has been taking special training in rada Howard will be home until Jan. 7, when he will return to his base in Minot. Dinner guests at the Kay Bren neman home on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. II. J. Pickens and family, and Mr. and Mrs. K. T, Pickens and family, all of Salt Lake. Calli- cott, Mr. and Mrs. James Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Elias Butter field. Mr. Aylett died last Thursday evening in Granger while vis iting at the home of a son. Funeral services were held in the Grace ward chapel on Tuesday at 1 p.m, Mr. Aylett's wife, was the former Mabel Peterson of Riverton and a sister of Mrs. Dora Butterfield. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Hamilton entertained at a Christmas party for the Frank H. Fox family on the afternoon of Dec. 25. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Fox of Salt Luke, father of Mrs. Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Fox and children Micheal and Kenny, Mrs. H. Burton Fox, and son Craig also of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Julian B. Fox and children, Brent and Susan of Orem. The West Jordan Stake Gold and Green Ball will be held in the West Jordan school auditorium on Saturday. Jan. 17. Theme for the evening will be "Winter Wonderland". A floor show under direction of Helen Thaxton and Bryant Miller, will commence at 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley R. Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Lisle G. Brown of Salt Lake motored to Gunnison, Vt. on Sunday to visit with Mrs. Iinda Myrup. mother of Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Brown. On the return trip they veiled at the Julian B. Fox home in Orem. Lawrence Densley, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Lynn Densley is home on a 18 day leave from his duties in the navy. I .awrence has been in the service for over a year, part of this time he spent in Pearl Harbor and on Chi Chi Jima Island near Japan. Lawrence is attached to Submarine Squuxlron 3, on the USS Sperry, a Submarine Tender which repairs submarines at sea and at the Navy base in San Diego, Calif.
