Urla Jeane Lloyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melbourne Lloyd of Crescent, returned recently with the Utah delegation from the NaClub Congress in Chitional cago. Miss Lloyd won the trip on club activity in the basis of 4-- 4-- borne improvement work, with her expenses being paid by foundation of Chicago, HL While there she served as a member of a committee to formulate questions in the interest of youth to be directed to the President of General Motors Corp. Citizenship and democracy, were outstanding principels stressed to this youth group and carried out as the delegates were honored individually n and as a group by various business organizations and institutions throughout the country. Christmas programs will be presented in junior and senior Sunday School at 10:30. a.m. and in sacrament meeting at 7 p.m. in the Crescent ward on Dec. 21. Every one is invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. William Wynn spent the week-envisiting with Mr. and Mrs. William Wynn, Jr., and son of Pocatello, Ida. Mrs. Heber J. Sears of Salt. Lake was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Samuelsen last week. Mrs. Harold Oakeson entertained her Friendship club on Thursday evening. The evening was spent in making Christmas Sear-Foe-buc- k well-know- d Mr. and Mrs. Eric Dahl and Mr. and Mars. Leo Dahl were guests at a Christmas party at the Ambassador Hotel Saturday evening in Salt Like. Jerome Brown of the stake high council, Kendall Smith and Lloyd Sutcliffe as stake missionaries, were the speakers in sacrament meeting. The Relief Society chorus furnished the music with Mrs. Grace Johnson in charge and Mrs. Ramona Smith as accompanist on the piano. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lavsen entertained at a Christmas party on Saturday evening. Dinner was served and games were played by 25 guests. Crescent Lions were recipients , of many "thank you" letters from the boys and girls of the Crescent school for the big Halloween party that was given them. Those taking part were Linda Shulsen, Tommy Page, Estelle Berrett, Eugene Bowen, Gail Hutchings, Marsha Holt, Ann Parry, Jeannine Nokes, Joan Shul sen, Gwen Page, Sue Stocking, Jean Stocking, Sheila Hamilton, Marilyn Bishop, Erma Beckstead, Maureen Beckstead, and Colleen and Caro lyn Hamilton. A large number of parents and friends were present to hear the fine numbers rendered by the students. Mr & Mrs Mark Nlcholes and family entertained at a dinner and Christmas party at their home on Dec. 14. Those present were Mr & Mrs L A Batchelor of Salt Lake, Mr & Mrs Wendell Kirkpatrick and family of American Fork, and Mr Alma Olsen, father of Mrs Nichol- es, also of American Fork. Lucky holiday travelers will be the Nichols family, who will leave Dec. 22 to drive to Los Angeles and North Hollywood to spend the holidays with Mr & Mrs George Nichols and family. They will be accompanied by Mr & Mrs Mark Nichols, Sr. They will see the Par ade of Roses at Pasadena, and will also visit in Las Vegas and Bould er City, Nev., before returning home on Jan. 4. The family of Mrs Mont Bishop gathered at her home Tuesday evening to help celebrate her birthday. Centerpiece for the table was a beautiful birthday cake baked by her husband. Riverton's holiday festivties got off to a good start Tuesday evening when the Christmas lights were turned on, by Gwynne Page, president of the town board. Citi zens are asked to contribute to the holiday spirit by decorating their homes wherever possible. anThe Riverton school nounce that the annual Christmas program will be given on the evening of Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. in the Riverton school auditorium, under direction of Harold Rindleshbach of the music department and Robert T. Krueger, school speech director. The program will be pre sented by the junior high school. The program will consist of the following numbers: selections by the school band and orchestra,' novelty number, "The Three Little Pigs", by Miss Sally Silcox and the school band, "Christmas Story," by Kathy Jones, Clarinette quartete, Oh. Mr. and Mrs. Del Shoemaker and children, Joan Mary and Robyn motored to Provo Sunday and vis ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bartholomew, (Carol New man) and family and also in Amer ican Fork at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frederick, former resi- dents of Riverton. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnson of Salt lake City, spent Monday afternoon visiting at the home of Mr. .and Mrs. Elmer Seal. Ronald is a grandson of the Seal's. Mrs. Johnson was formerly Kay Cbris-tense- n of Union. Saturday, Dec. 13, was the occasion for celebrating at the Millard Henderson home, it being Millerd's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reynolds and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Seal made up a merry group who came to help Millard celebrate. Seaman Robert Silcox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin S. Silcox, has returned to his base in Long Beach, Calif., after spending a 30 day furlough at his parents home in Riverton. Robert has been in the Navy since January 1951, and has spent 15 months overseas in Korean waters, having returned home from Korea in November. Robert is a graduate of Jordan high school end will be remembered for his skill on a football field and for his other athletic activities. His parents have received word that he will leave for Maryland on January 15, where he will receive special training in a Navy Gunnery School. Robert enlisted two years ago and has two more years to go before his enlistment time is up. Sgt. DeLoy C. Densley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Densley has returned home after receiving his final discharge papers in San Francisco, Calif., the first part of the week. DeLoy has spent 14 months overseas, 13 of which he spent in Korea, where he has been doing repair work in the Army Motor Pool in Choncon, near the city of Seoul. His family and his many friends are tnrilled to have DeLoy back home. Pfc. Martin A. Cardwell was one of several Utah boys who arrived home from overseas in time for Christmas. His boat docked in Se attle, Wash., last Wednesday mor ning for home arriving in Salt Lake at 10 p.m. last Friday nig.it. Martin has been in the service 1(1 months and has spent 11 months in active duty in Korea. After a 30 day furlough at home Martin will return to Camp Lewis, at pre sent he is having a vacation visiting with relatives en1 friends. Martin is the so.i of William Cardwell and the late Ethel L. Crump is very ill at the LDS hospital at Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Tearris Ingram accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Don Swasey and family to Nephi Sunday. The Swasey's visited with Mr. Swasey's mother, Mrs. Jennie Swasey and the Ingrams with their relatives at Nephi. Admission charge will be $1.00 per person, according to Morris Thomas, president of the club; and each student who sells a ticket will be able to attend the event free.
