C, Wednesday after spending a 2 week leave with his Mr. and Mrs. Andrew parents, 8 Swenson. Miss Beverley Bird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude R. Bird and Dale Nilsson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Nilsson St., were married Nov. 18 in the Salt Lake temple. President Robert D. Young officiated at the ceremony. After a honeymoon to Mesa, Ariz., and the southwest the young couple will make their home in East Mid-valMiss Bird has been extensively entertained prior to her marriage. Mr. Nilsson recently returned from the southwest mission fleld. Cpl. Lynn Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Nielson, and Cpl. Bryant Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Anderson, were released from active duty on Oct. 13 at Fort Riley, Kans., after spending 2 years in the U.S. Army. Mrs. C. N. Ashman has moved back to East Midvale after spending the summer in Fillmore. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Goff and daughter, Dora, recently enjoyed a three-weevacation to the southwest. They met their daughter, Marie, who just completed a two year mission in Mexico, at Mesa, Ariz., and then visited in Mexico City, Mexico and points of interest in New Mexico. En route home they visited in Albuquerque, N. M., with Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Smart and Mr. and Mrs. Noel Duerden. k Funeral services were held in Murray Monday for Ronald Baker Sharp, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean W. Sharp, who died in a Salt Lake hospital Sunday morning two and a half hours after birth. Glen Sadler, serving with the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif., is spending a month leave with his wife and daughter, Robyn and Wendy and his mother, Mrs. Grace Sadler of Midvale. Dr. and Mrs. Vance Burgon entertained at a dinner Sunday honoring Mrs. Burgons parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mabey, on their wedding anniversary. Other guests were Janice Mabey of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Mabey of South Jordan. Ferris Collett of Bountiful, former Midvale and East Midvale resident way an- overnight guest recently of Lynn Jensen. Merlin Ashman of Redmond, visited recently at the home of his brother Harold Ashman. Mrs. Lorraine T. Monson and Mrs. Glen Sadler entertained ata bridal shower Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Timothy, in honor of Beverley Bird. Mrs. Pauline Rich returned to her home Saturday after spending the summer with relatives and friends in Burley, Ida. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hicks motored to Monroe Sunday, where they visited relatives and friends. Donald Shelton, son of Mr.' and Mrs. Leland Shelton arrived home Monday night after completing a r mission to the northern states. Mrs. Clyde Soffe attended s meeting of the Railroad Auxiliary in Salt Lake Thursday at the home of Mrs. Verna Mair. and Gleaner girls of the Second ward are sponsoring a visit. Besides the immediate family, guests included Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Griffiths of Sandy and Mrs. Ferol White and Earl White. Earl will leave in the near future for Germany. Senior Aaronic members of the Second ward recently enjoyed u tour of the Utah-IdahSugar factory in West Jordan. The tour was conducted by Eugene Steed, member of the committee. Following the tour the entire group met at the Steed home where a delicious turkey dinner was served to 35 members of the bishopric, com mittee members and senior Aaronic members and their wives. Members of the Union Second ward will hold a bazaar Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22. A din-- ! ner, program and other entertainment will be enjoyed. Stanley Burare gon and Oren Bagley for the bazaar and Ralph Ashton has charge of the dinner. The Union Lady Lions held a meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Sterling Stoker with Mrs. Collin Wood ta Paul Hedman presented accordion solos and Jean Westwood of West Jordan gave a review of two short stories, "Journal of Brother Jones'" and "A birthday party".
