Show THE Ml DYALE SENTINEL Page Seven Friday, January 11, 1952 (jmxite (Continued from Page 3) Blind to Good Things About Us There is an old adage that says, "distance lends enchantment", and our experience leads us to believe there are many who, unwittingly, fall victim to this idea. Not long ago a friend of ours was in business raising blooded roosters. Over the years the high quality of his stock became famous in the poultry states of the country. Orders came in faster than he was able to fill them and, even though he increased his breeding pens, he was never able to keep ahead of the demand. However, there was one strange factor in his business success. His orders generally almost always came from producers living great distances away, while local poultry-me- n seemed to care little, if anything, about his stock. Distances do seem to lend enchantment even in roosters. But, why look beyond our own borders for quality? Why go great distances in search for something that can be had locally? There are many things of value close in if we open our eyes to them. For example, our local business men can stock and maintain quality products to the extent of our patronage and our interest in them. Why not seek them out? they are great people; and never forget, their success is our success, community-wise- . Why fall into the error of thinking we have to go miles to get quality? Mrs. S . .
