Valley junior high will sponsor a hunter safety and survival class beginning on Tuesday that will qualify graduates under the age of 21 years to purchase a hunting license. Mr. and Mrs. Duane D. Call, a Salt Lake valley instructor team, will teach the course. A state law passed by the legislature in 1960 requires all persons under the age of 21 to successfully complete this course before they may legally purchase a hunting license in Utah. Last year, the legislature reduced the minimum age for hunting birds and small game to 12 years of age. Mr. Call is certified by both the Utah Department of Fish and Game and the National Rifle Assn. Mrs. Call, who is likewise certified, will present information specifically designed for firearm safety in the home. Mothers are especially being invited to prepare for helping fathers and young hunters in the home. The course is open to persons 11 years and over in the Granger-Keararea for the sessions to be held at Valley junior high.
