Murray scored one run in the first and three in the seventh in an effort to catch Granger who was leading with seven runs. Murray scored the three runs in the seventh when Dave Shaw walked- - and Kelly Bills tripled to drive him in. Greg Simper hit a single to bring in Bills. Simper stole second base and another hit drove him in for the third run. Granger scored two runs in the sixth when John Lyman and Jim Amicone walked and Brad Bevan singled to bring in both across home plate. Tooele left Kearns with a blank score card on Wednesday after allowing them no hits or runs. The winners scored nine rims on six hits against the Kearns club.
