RESIDENTS in some sections, particularly the south east part of the city, had complained they did not have II';4? enough water pressure. Mayor Ray P. Greenwood ..t noted Saturday the south east area, because of its higher elevation, was always the hardest hit when a heavy load came on the system. HE EXPLAINED the well, which was diiled last summer, was not put into service earlier because of mechanical difficulties at the pump station. When the unit was added to the system Saturday, how; ever, water department officials 25 a in reported pound jump presure in the main svstem. "THIS INCREASE in pressure," Mayor Greenwood said, "will be felt all over the system and will greatly relieve problems that have existed the past few weeks." The mayor continued by pointing out the water department would make daily pressure checks at various points in the city during the coming week and if the pressure drops below a serviceable point the department will take steps to acquire more water.
