A welcoming social for the presidency, committees and faculty of the Monroe will be held Sept. school 21st at 3:45 p.m. at the school. The gathering- will afford of ficials the opportunity to get acquainted and to discuss the year's activities. Light refreshments will be served. P-T- A Grass Fires Keep Department Busy Murray. State. J Chamber Group Holds Meeting Murray. The Industrial De velopment and Civic Betterment committee of the Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday with Richard M. Baker as chairman. In attendance were John Malecker, Glen Flitton, Vaughn Soffe. Bob Dansie, Jim Rice, and Frank Nelson. Other members of the committee are Hal Charon, Jim Cornwell, Dr. Sam Robison, Rodney Gordon and Henry Hilton. Among the items of business discussed were signs on major roads indicating routes to Murray City; the effect of increased population on business and industry in Murray; an increased effort on the part of Murray to obtain the civic audi torium for this area and gen eral betterment.
