They seldom say"thanks" where it would mean a lotlThev- often criticize, but praise. Thev arc particularly guiltv of failing to offer applause and encouragement to entertainers. For some reason. Salt Lake audiences arc notorious in this latter category. Prominent people in the entertainment field have met a ehillv reception here. In some cases, they earned ir. In many others, they didn't. Applause is the food upon which entertainers thrive. Given a liberal diet, they perform even better than normally. Deprived of it, they often grow angry and the resultant dictates its ow n fortunes insofar as the calibre of performance they witness. This year's county fair entertainment was no exception. But the applause The performers were certainly didn't reflect it. It must've been more than a bit disappointing to the people who worked hard for that applause but received vcVv little of it. Aside from that, we'd call the '62 fair "good". Fine ex ! - Granite And Hawaii Trade Art Collection y, (;, . A j HEADED I . . Ivy-styl- tailored e. n blends . . . PRICED $495 Seidlitz. Work was started on the $37,000 building tn July and should be completed by the end of December, the chief said. Total cost of the building will be about $45,000, including the plot of land and architect's fee. The new building will serve Granger and Hunter and will result in a substantial decrease in the length of runs made by crews covering the area.
