Setting the show thfeme, "The Seven Seas", was a large arrangement in the foyer featuring a giant clam shell and gladiolus on a background of blue ' leal fishnet. - I. I 4 ' k kh M'ihfA 1 j - r 4, j TAKING HONORS as the best single stem specimen In the show was a white dahlia, "Silver Wedding", exhibited by Lynn Young, Sugar House. He was awarded- the coveted Roy Hillf m award for the flower. The Award of Merit was won by Harold Rushton, Kearns, for his entry of marigolds. . The Award of Distinction went to Mrs. Joan Hartle, Murray for her arrangement entitled "Marooned". MRS. HARTLE also won the Sweepstakes ribbon for the most blue ribbons in the artistic division of the show. ribbon and the The Dorthea Newbold Award were won by Mrs. Harold. Rushton for her interpretation of the class, "Sea Serpent". RECEIVING the Fred Augs-burgAward, a modernistic vase, was Mrs. W. O. Bostwick, Kearns, with the entry of the rose, "New Yorker". For the second consecutive year, the Sweepstakes ribbon in the horticulture division was copped by Fred, Greenfield, Salt Lake City. IN THE JUNIOR division, vases were awarded to Dorothy Greenland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Greenland, Kearns, for her flower arrange, ment in the six-1- 0 year old division. Winner in the 4 year old group was Carol Ann Chris-tensedaughter of Mr. and Mrs. T h u r 1 y n n Christensen, Kearns. Top horticultural honors were won by Natoma Rosenberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Rosenberg, with her entry of celosia. She was awarded a planter in recognition of her achievement.
