At a recent election, officers were named for a new Boy Scout district on the west side of the Salt Lake valley. In the past, there were six districts in this area: Taylors-villGranger, Kearns, Kearn3 North, Oquirrh and North Jordan. These have now been combined into one district, which as yet is The new district covers an area inhabited by approximately 50,000 people and includes the communities of Kearns, Bonn-ion- , Taylorsville, Granger, Redwood. Hunter and Magna. Matt Petersson, Jr. of Hunter, formerly North Jordan district chairman, will head the new district as chairman. Five assistant district chairmen wore elected at the same time: James A. Banks, Rudger M. Alexander, Keith Sharp. Art Willis anJ Ronald D. Peterson. Royal Larson of Magna was elected district commissioner. The revision of the district will bring the scouting activities in this area more in line with National Boy Scout policy.
