The festivities will get underway at 8:30 p.m. and last until 11:30. Music will be by the Granger high orchestra and admission will be 50 cents per person or by budget card. Acting as host for the evening will be the Kearns 13th Waid who will present a floor show during the dance. Plans also call for a prize to be awarded the person wearing the loudest stockings. Wirthlin, member of the Presiding Bishopric. The green light was given planners at a meeting of the Presidency and the First Church expenditures committee. The new structure, which is expected to cost $l'i million, will replace the present Cottonwood Maternity Hospital, 401 E. 5600 South. Cottonwood Maternity will be sold to area LDS Stakes for use as nn old folks retirement home. The yet unnamed hospital will be built on 26 acres of land adjoining the Murray LDS Stake Center, 5770 So. 3rd East The new building will occupy only 2,4 acres, with the remaining property to be used for future hospital construction. Sixty beds will comprise the maternity section of the hospital with the' remaining beds for general Ml'RRAY The problem of decreasing the number of students being transported from Murraydale subdivision to the Grant elementary school was discussed at a regular meeting of the Murray Board of Education last night. Supt. J. Easton Parratt reported that there were "more students living in the subdivision than we estimated and thus our busses are overloaded." He explained that about 140 to 150 students can be transported to Grant without over' loading the busses, but that 180 are taking the trip each day. Supt. Parratt also reported that the district enrollment figure had climbed to 4,556, nearly 10 per cent more than last year's figure of 4.191 for the same time. "We're still getting more," he noted. "We arc expecting the figure to climb almost to 4,600 this year." A breakdown of the enrollment at each district school is as follows: Arlington, 783; Bonnyview, 284; Grant, 571; Hillerest, 732; Liberty, 562; junior high, 802; and senior high, 715. He pointed to the two secondary schools as examples of. the rising enrollment. P. Jones reported Tuesday. The department fought 18 grass blazes during the week and was also called out on one false alarm. Friday, the firemen answered a call to Holliday Motel, 3035 So. State, where a garbage disposal machine had caught fire. The blaze was started by a cigarette tossed into the trash Chief Jones said. KEARNS was named Blaine Taylor chairman of the "Speak-U- p Jaycees" program of the Kearns Junior Chamber of Commerce at a meeting held Thursday at the home of Darr Harward. The personal development project has members giving various types of speeches which sponrange from taneous talks to a prepared address. The group also announced they are planning a Polynesian show similar to one sponsored by them last year. Farrol Lambert, president, announced the Jaycees are in full support of the Community Development program for Kearns. Three members arc presently acting as district organizers and the remainder are te five-minu- te supporting CD by attending meetings. The Jaycees are also planning to sponsor "My True Security" program at Cyprus and Granger high schools. Gerry Lindhcrdt, chairman, announced the project will be launched immediately.
