MURRAY ft A shifting of MURRAY Salt Lake County fire department equipment to compensate for the loss of two trucks In a recent collision is assuring the area of adequate fire protection, Chief F. P. Jones noted this week. Units have been moved between Magna, Kearns, No. 10 station in South Cottonwood and the main headquarters stations, he reported. The department has 22 pieces of equipment in operation. The two damaged trucks are expected to be out of operation for about two months. The mishap occurred Friday, Mar. 20th, when the two trucks collided at 40th West and 35th South while enroute to a barn fire. Four firemen were injured in the accident. Chief Jones estimated the' cost of putting" the trucks back at between into operation $20,000 and $23,050, He also noted that had the department's new Independent radio system been in operation the collision likely could have been avoided. The new communications set-u- p is expected to be in operation within a month to six weeks, the chief said. April 2, Thursday, 1? They, with their Z2 grand children and " great great grandchildren, all live close enough for "Grandma and Grandpa Gallagher" to visit with and enjoy often. At an age when many women honorably start "taking things easy" Mrs. Gallagher still carries a full schedule. She holds the demanding job of Murray Stake Relief Society president and has done so since 1952. Immediately prior to that she served 7 years as ward Relief Society president in Murray Second and Fourth wards. There just isn't an LDS organization that this faithful woman hasn't helped with, and even now she works in the Jr. Sunday School. Genealogical work has been one of her life long interests, but it has also been one she has not found too much time to devote seriously to it. She now laughingly claims she is "saving Wreck Causes Truck Switch S n 0 n for sj25 J Sjl25 for |
