"We were eager to return," Curt recalls. In 1936 they built a home at 4901 Atwood Boulevard where they still reside. In 1947 they moved their business from the Townsend Building to its present location at 4969 So. State, where they have established a very reputable and healthy floral enterprise. H. The Bubels have one son who served three years Curt with the Military Intelligence in the European Theater. He presently is a student at the University of Utah where he is securing a doctorate in virus diseases in the field of medical science. Curt is a member of the Murray Lions Club, the Murray Chamber of Commerce and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie continents. He came directly to Salt Lake City in 1928 and began working with flowers instead of figures at Evans Floral Company, one of that city's oldest floral firms. "The days of adjustment that followed were extremely difficult to say the least," Curt recalls "learning a new language, new customs and most of all a new profession that I didn't take to at all." However, he met the "profession" problem with a degree of success that reflects hidden talent along the florist line. In 1930 he purchased the Murray Floral Company from a brother-in-laW. F. Curt was soon to discover that he had traveled a vast expanse of ocean to come from one depression to another. He remembers all too well weathering those "lean" years when people were worried too much about food to be too concerned about flowers. "It took awfully good selling to sell flowers then," Curt recalls. "Murray's business district lookr ed like a Ghost town." But Curt hasn't been alone in thi3 venture and he is the first to admit it. Back in Mannhein he met Mitzi Eminger from "gay" Vienna at a private dancing school. About the time they won a blue ribbon prize for their version of the "Tango," Curt and Mitzi decided they were good partners and made it a perman- No. 1760. Getting back to Murray "From those dark days of 1932 when I remember how lonesome it got watching for pedestrians and autos Murray has developed into a real city," Curt said.
