Show FRIDAY, FEBRUARY Local Vet Is Cadet First Lieutenant In ROTC at BYU Kenneth D. Zwahlen, Murray, has been promoted to the rank of Cadet First Lieutenant in the Brigham Young University Air Force ROTC. The promotion carries the new assignment of squadron commander. Mr. Zwahlen is a junior in the of Arts and Sciences. He is majoring in chemistry. He was elected last spring quarter as treasurer of the executive presidency of Lambda Delta Sigma, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Da- y Saints fraternity. Mr. Zwahlen has fulfilled a mission for the LDS chuch in the North Central states mission. He also spent 16 months with the United States Army in Korea during World War II. This is the first year BYU has had a unit of Air Force. There are 1100 students enrolled in the four-yeair science course. ar A. C. Caldwell Joins Hereford Association A. C. Caldwell of Murray has been named to membership in the American Hereford Assn., the world's largest purebred registry organization, with headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. (Hen) Jensen of Mid-valn gathered to honor Mr. on his 80th birthday anniversary. A large birthday cake centered the table. Special guests were Mrs. Annie J. Simper, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Jensen, all of East Midvale and Tyrum A. Jensen, West Jordan. Lovely spring flowers were used as table centerpieces to decorate the home. After dinner Dr. Wright showed a movie film, taken of the group at Christmas time a year ago. It provided many laughts and refreshed several memories of the good time they had. The remainder of the evening was spent playing Rook. Dixie Mitchell, tiny four-yea- r old daughter of Mr. and Mr.'. Ira Mitchell, 541 Bcnbow Ave., underwent another operation Friday morning of last week, in an effort to straighten her arm, which was so badly burned when her clothes caught fire last June The little tot spent 51 days at the Holy Cross hospital after the accident and has since underwent several minor operations.
