And Christ is the only One who can represent us sinners before the court of heaven. Says Paul: "There is one God and one Mediator between God and man, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all." 1 Tim. 2, 5. Not everyone has engaged His services. Have you? He is offering you His help at this moment. Why not accept His offer today-ri- ght now? This Bible message is one which we are eager to bring you Lutheran Church 171 East 48th South NORBERT F. ItOSC'IIKE, Pastor Does your conscience bother you? Arc you afraid to face God? Would you like to have someone "talk to God" for you? There is someone who can do that very thing for you! The Bible tells us: "If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ and the righteous. And He is the reconciliation for our .sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." 1 John 2, 1. An advocate is a representative, a lawyer, one who talks to the jud,'e for us. Jesus Christ is the Christian's lawyer before the eternal Judge on high. Of Him the Bible says: "He is able to save them to the uttermost that come to God by Him, seeing every Sunday at 11 Won't a. m. you join us this coming Sunday? When I protested that I was not a Chinaman and did not like well ripened eggs, she snorted that any good housewife should know that there were plenty of excellent ways to keep eggs fresh for a long time. Well, I admitted that I was on the lazy side and that I also knew I was a little "igernant," so she told me that the State Agricultural college recommends a white salve that, when spread over the eggs just before wrapping them in paper and packing in a box, will keep them very well. But I didn't want to bother writing for information. She snorted again and said that I ought to go hungry if I couldn't even write a letter to find out how to do a good job of keeping food. But she said there were two other ways that I could keep them, so even being lazy was no excuse. She insisted that I buy a large bag of salt, regular table salt, and pack my eggs away in that. She said that they would keep for winter use. Then she told me that I could buy some water glJss at the drug store and follow the instructions to preserve eggs. Well, she just kept at me until I did them both, so in ypite of myself we will have eggs when the hens strike. I hope, I hope.
