Murray Social Events Ceremony at Home Unites Couple A lovely ceremony at the home of the bride's parents united Miss Nahrean Julia Christensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Christensen, 3683 South Thirteenth East street, and Verne D. Rasmussen on Monday evening, March 15. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Rasmussen, 3691 South Thirteenth East street. The bride's grandfather, Christian Christensen of Chester, Utah, performed the ceremony. Attending the bride were Mrs. Eva Van Gerver, a sister, as matron of honor, and Miss LaDonna Christensen, another sister, and Miss Patricia Rasmussen, a niece of the bridegroom, as bridesmaids. Don McMurdie served as best man. The bride was lovely in white Venetian lace organdy and she carried a bride's bouquet of roses and gardenias. A reception for the couple followed the wedding ceremony, 200 friends and relatives attending. Several showers have been given for the bride, including one by Mrs. D. M. Watkins and Mrs. B. E. Olsen, and a club shower at the home of Mrs. Roy Calton. Assisting were Mrs. N. Remington, Mrs. Clarence Neilson and Miss Virginia Newman. Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen will be at their new home at Westminster Heights. Returns Mrs. Edwin Eyre has returned visit to Rawlins, from a ten-da- y Wyo., with relatives and friends. ' Leaves for California Mrs. Sherman D. Freeze left Friday for California to visit her husband, who is attending the signal corps- school at San Jose, 1 - Cal. ' l Sherman enlisted in the signal corps last October and has been in training at West high school until recently. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Freeze of Murray. Election of officers was made at this time and those selected were: Mrs. A. Bogedahl, president; Mrs. G. A. Jump, vice president; Mrs. L. Sheets, treasurer; Mrs. Verne Miller, recording secretary, and Mrs. Walters, corresponding secretary. Mr. L. Sheets and Mr. Walters were held over as board members. Following the business meeting a drawing for some potted plants was held. Party Given DeparJinsr Soldier A party was given last Thursday evening for Bob Foster and John Smith, who left last Friday for Fort Douglas after their week's leave.
