Hallowe'en Dance Slated The student body of Murray High are planning for the big dance to be held in the gymnasium tonight. Scrap Books Miss Betty Baer and members of her art classes are working on material for the War Times Scrap Books to be entered in the National collection of Books from the schools. Imported Lecture Members of the Blaine School student body were entertained by a very interesting, illustrated lecture given by Mr. Alva The subject of the lecture is Australia and its vicinity. Mr. Alward has some views of the Solomon Islands and other strategic points of international ind. terest today. Beet Toppers Even the girls at Blaine are becoming enthused with the prospect of topping beets in the drive for student labor in this important war industry. Lincoln School School Lunches Mrs. C. D. Robinson, P. T. A. president of Lincoln school is endeavoring to make arrangements for the serving of hot lunches to the students. Shortage of labor has delayed this project up to this time; as most of the labor must be voluntary workers. The demand for these lunches by the children is increasing daily and it is hoped by the P. T. A. and the school faculty that arrangements may soon be completed. Hallowe'en Parties Each room in Lincoln school is planning a Hallowe'en party. Many original cosutmes are expected to make their appearance. A feature of the day will be the general assembly on the front lawn with a costume parade at which the most original and most outstanding costumes will be chosen. Navy Day Celebrated Navy Day was celebrated by an assembly and program arranged by the pupils of Miss Bjorkland's fifth grade. The program consisted of a song, "Anchors Aweigh," by the sixth grade and an accompanying tap dance by Rosemary Wright. Speech, "Purpose of Our Navy," by the fifth grade. "Blow Fast," by fifth , Song, grade boys. Talk by Naval Officer, Del Leeson. Song and dance, "Three Little Sisters." Remarks by Supt. P. T. Farns-worton "Theodore Roosevelt." Closing song , "We Must Be Diligent." P. T. A. Organized At a meeting of the Lincoln school P. T. It is anticipated that a stake board member will be present, and special music will be furnished by the singing mothers of the ward.
