Show Mr. and Mrs. Jim Coates announce the birth of a baby boy Cottonwood Maternity August 24. Son and mother are reported doing nicely. Camp Kearns Soldiers Entertained Last Wednesday evening, the Utah Copper Club held a dance on the tennis courts in Community Park in Magna with the Adolph Brox furnishing were a music. Special guests group of soldiers from Camp Kearns. Budget report meeting was held Tuesday evening, August 25, in Granger chapel. Funeral Services For Olive Smith Bawden Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3 p. m., in Granger chapel for Mrs. Olive Smith Bawden, widow of Patriarch John Howard Bawden, who died at 4:40 a. m., Friday. in Mrs. Bawden was born Salt Lake City May 19, 1875, a daughter of Manasseh and Mary Ann White Smith. She has always been very active in the Church, having been the first kindergarten teacher i n Granger ward. She worked with her father in the musical activities and served as counselor in the Y. W. M. I. A. She was also president of the Religion Class in the ward and had been active in Relief Society for a number of years. She is survived by seven sons d and six daughters, John H. G., William O., Richard G., d M. Smith, Ferris N., and W. Bawden; Mrs. Alice B. Mackay, Mrs. Mary B. Bangert-er- , Mrs. Isabelle Bangerter, Mrs. Louise B. Inklcy, and Miss Ann Lorraine Bawden of Granger, and Mrs. Helen Daw of South Cottonwood; 30 grandsons, 31 granddaughters; 20 great grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters, Mrs. Daniel E., John N. ,and George E. Smith; Mrs. Susan E. Grant, and Mrs. Laurell A. Rasmussen and Mrs. Lucy Mackay, all of Granger, and Mrs. Arva II. Crofts of Salt Lake. Speakers at the services were Fredcrik Nielsen, and Frank Teel of Pleasant Green; John D. Hill, Bishop Merrill Petersen. Musical selections were rendered by the Burton trio and a vocal selection, "O, My Father,' by Mrs. Vinnie Sampson. Interment was in the Elysian Burial Gardens. Daniel E. Smith dedicated the grave. Wil-lar- Mar-woo- Featured in the style show, a feature of the Salt Lake County Fair, to be held in Murray on Sept. 2, 3, 4, and 5th, will be Miss June McRae of Granger. Miss McRae has been active in club work for a number of yea rs, having specialized in clothing. She has been a leader in the club for the past three years and won a trip to Chicago last year for her achievements. Joe Shafer and Lynn Packard from Granger are entered in the competition. Mill Men The in the Industrial League scored a top notch victory last Sunday over Pinney. The Mill Men are in second place in the league after Sunday's game. Wednesday the Mill Men travel to Brig-haCity for a game in the evening at 8:30. The big game of the season will be with Provo on September 2nd.
