Adequate supplies of clean drinking water and sufficient green feed succ-lealfalfa or bright, should bo kept before the birds at all times. Thouands of dollars worth of feed is wasted in the state each year by filling feed hoppers too full, by not keeping the hoppers in good repair and by not having a satisfactory place to keep the birds on the range prior to the time it is fed, Mr. Frischknecht contends. Feather picking is another problem that confronts turkey growers. It often produces patches of dark pigment under the skin which detracts from the appearance and value of the turkey after it has been dressed. Attempts to remove dry mash that often sticks to the inside of the mouth by picking feathers from other birds is one of the chief causes of this problem. If bailing wire is stretched tightly above and between the ends of the feeders, a place for the birds to clean the dry mash from the inside of their mouths will bo provided and feather picking will be prevented. Turkey Price Outlook Given ELECTION NOTICE s, By A.C. Carl Frischknecht. extension poultryman at the Utah tate Agricultural college, states. It appears that turkey prices will continue to he higher since prices of other meats have advanced and consumers have a greater purchasing power than a year ago, but the large cold storage holdings may have an unfavorable alTect nil the turkey market. Regardless of price, however, well fleshed tuikcys are worth more per pound and growers should therefore see that their turkeys are properly fed and cared for from now until marketing time, Mr. Frischknecht EXCITING! d PESERET MORTUAFCC service Apove'Aii V fir SEE YOU AT i A x 36 East 7th South CENTRAL Salt Lake City I5ARIU.K SHOr FRANK.
