Daughters of Pioneers to Meet The monthly meeting of the Millcreek camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will be held at the home of Mrs. Mary Belle Hamilton at her home on 7th To Visit East. Returning via Las Vegas, Nevada, a day was spent at Boulder Dam. ed Returns from Nicaragua Mrs. Lowell Tye returned Saturday from Nicaragua, Central America, having spent the past fntir months there with her husband. Mrs. Tye says she enjoyed visit immensely and liked the country and weather down there very much. hi-- Holds Dinner The N.H. club entertained at a pot luck dinner Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Eva Bishop. Arrives for Visit Mrs. Gottlieb Oster of Monan-g- i. North Dakota, has arrived at the home of the Reverend and Mrs. Schuldhciss for an extended visit. Mrs. Oster is the mother if Mrs. Schuldhciss. H0LLADAY Daughters of Pioneers to Meet Twin Peaks Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, met Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. O. T. Jensen. The lesson given was on "Military Forts of the West" Assisting hostesses were Mrs, E. P. Henrichsen, Mrs. C. W. White-ma- n and Mrs. Mecham. Returns to School Miss June Wright returned to the A. C. in Logan this week following a two weeks' vacation here with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Wright. Return from California Mr. and Mrs. Vaun Fothering-hahave just returned from a week in California, where they were gueests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Fothringham of Southgate. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Theron Fotheringham. To Fete Bridge Club Mrs. George Dwyer will be hostess to the Murray Bridge club at her home in Salt Lake Friday afternoon. m Entertain at Home Mr. and Mrs. John L. Dame entertained at their home on Valley View Sunday evening for a group of friends. Games were enjoyed during the evening and refreshments were served. Relief Society Meets Following a two weeks' vacation, Holladay ward Relief Society met Tuesday afternoon. Next Tuesday, January 14, Mrs. Edna Hollingworth will give the lesson on nutrition. Work on Book Covers Last Friday the Junior Girls of Taylorsville ward spent the afternoon with their leader, Mrs. Fred Barker. The time was spent in working on covers for their books. Luncheon was served at B o'clock to the Misses Arva and Verna Holder, Arvella and Mildred June Barker, Nola Mackay, Lorraine Harrison and Velma Garringer. Mrs. Barker presented the girls with their official pins for the Junior Girls. Entertains N.H. Club Mrs. Mary Anne Jensen entertained members of the N.H. club Wednesday evening at its regular business meeting. Entertains for Club Mrs. Barlow Muir entertained at her home Thursday afternoon for members of her club. Luncheon was served to eight guests and games were played during the afternoon. Entertains Kliques Club Mrs. Glen Bean entertained for the Kliques club Tuesday evening, January 7, at the home of her mother, Mrs. A. White on Hanauer street. Light refreshments were served and Five Hundred was played, prizes going to Mrs. Thomas Oliver, Mrs. Sherman Wright, and Mrs. John Muth, as honored guest. Entertains Jolly Contractors Mrs. Fabian R. Hickman entertained Wednesday for her club, the Jolly Contractors. Following luncheon, the afternoon was spent in playing bridge. Study Group Meets Holladay Democratic Ladies' Study Group met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Paul Manwaring. A very interesting program was enjoyed. Relief Society Selects Officers Mrs. Louise Quist was sustained as president of Mt. Olympus Relief Society Sunday morning at Sacrament meeting in the ward. Her counselors are Mrs. Afton Parkinson and Mrs. Amy Casto. Mrs. Pearl Peterson was retained as secretary of the organization. Entertains for Guests Miss Zola Newman entertained at a party recently at her home, 5607 Holladay Boulevard. Eleven guests enjoyed an evening of games, after which refreshments were served. Brown 4141 South 4th West street. The topic discussed was "Problems Concerning the Legislature of 1041." There was also a musical program and refreshments were served. Mrs. Robert Dust was assisting present. The Relief Society will meet at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Members will sew all morning and the regular monthly luncheon will be served at noon. The work and business meeting will be held at 2 p.m. A moving picture show will be held in Millcreek ward amusek ment hall together with the ward on Friday evening. Wallace announces the engagement of her daughter, Rachael, to Mr. Sherman Park, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Park. The marriace will take place in the Salt Lake Temple at noon, Wednesday, January 15. A reception will be given by the bride's mother in the Millcreek ward amusement hall on 39th South and fith East. Rachael is well known in Murray and Cottonwood stake, having served on the various stake boards and in the Millcreek ward. She was leader of the club and under her leadership two of the members of the club were chosen as state representatives to Chicago. Later she served in a clubs. county position for the A number of showers and parties have been given in honor of Miss Wallace. A miscellaneous shower was given at the home of Miss June Carlisle, on 4th West, last Friday evening. Games were played and refreshments were served. On Monday evening. Mrs. n Salisbury and Miss Rose Marie Liddle entertained at a kitchen and grocery shower for Miss Wallace at the Millcreek ward lodge. Games wcr? played and refreshments were served to 40 guests. Another miscellaneous shower will be held Friday evening, January 10. at the home of Miss Alta Smith in Granger, for the girls who work with Miss Wallace at the Utah Poultry association. n, Fort Bridger, Wyoming, man last Friday evening, January 3.
