Glen Doran. 0, CALM THOSE BY USING NERVES, DOCTOR BE SWEET 1 MILES' MERVME At years of age, Joel Mears, pioneer resident of Utah since 1867, says he feels "hale and hearty" and looks forward to his ninety-thir- d birthday with enthusiasm. " Mr. Mears, who sees and hears well, avers that he has never had a sick day in his life. He lives with Mr. and Mrs. George H. Darton at 4762 South State street. Born April 26, 1846 in Wales. Mr. Mears came to Utah and settled in Lehi in 1867. His parents. Mormon pioneers, left him in Wales when he was ten years old and came to America. He was the only survivor of ten brothers, all of whom died in early youth. Mr. Mears was married twice, his last wife died in 1932, and since that time he has lived with Mr. Darton. His only child was an adopted daughter, who died several years 92 ago. In Utah Mr. Mears has worked a railroad engineer, miner, and farmer. His hobby is singing, he says.
