Nate Bankhead was the first colored basketball player to appear in the tournament since 1909. Nate's snaky arms were waving about like the appendages of an octupus, foiling the passing of many a foe. In the North Summit game, the Murray squad proved to be a little rough. They committted 18 fouls, one of the' highest number during the tourney. In the four games the local team had 32 fouls made against them. They tossed 14 of these through the hoop. The team committed 42 fouls against their opponents, but only 1G of the charity tosses were made. The Murray crew established a good record in the tournament as far as offense and defense is concerned. The team from the old Alma Mater ran their total to 108 points, and at the same lime held their opponents to 88 counters.
