The Aerie, under the national ouanUatiou department, has made a continuous scries of mciuU'rshhip drives and each class Initiated has added a goodly number to Its roster. The "Con" and "Frank" class, the Armistice Day and President class, each and all have met with unqualified success. However, realizing, that numerical strength alone does not make an ideal fraternity, the members have become enthusiastic in contributing their time and effort towards the sucess of the many movements sponsored by tin; Grand Aerie, some of which are national In scop'. The old age pension movement, which has gained such impetus since it was first Initiated by the order and has spread from coast to coast and now has leen adopted by many states and has been placed on the statute books as a law of the respective commonwealths, is but one of the big activities carried on by the socety. The wisdom of old age pensions was sincerely questioned when first put up to the various legislative bodies and. like all humanatarlan efforts met with considerable opposition. However, this npiosliion Is giving way: the tide of public opinion is coming to the support of the system. Proof of which is n to Ik1 found in the fact that over all the newspapers country, regardless of their political views are advocating Old Age Pensions amongst which may 1 found the great chain of Hearst papers end the Scrlpps-IIowarnewspapers. The local Aerie has doubled its nieinlx-rshiduring the year and the prosocts for its nititiniied growth were never so bright. Fuller the direction of .1. W. Krebs the Aerie Is organizing n degree team and In a little while we may sv a splendid k'uid of sixteen men. all rcsplendant in new uniforms, asking with and enhancing the wmk of this great fraternity.
