Very sincerely MRS. MARY L. DUDLEY. fZn Electric Rates For tils Murray City The maintaining' and expand ing of the Murray City Power riant supplying electrical en ergy at 5 cents per kilowatt hour to residents of Murray and at the same time building up a valuable property for the taxpayer is all important. Many Murray people are of the opinion that an increase in Murray electrical rates to the prices charged in Salt Lke City would seriously injure the owned municipally Murray plant. The municipally owned Murray plant is supplying electrical energy at very much lower rates than privately owned plants charge, and after only a Ifw vers operation Murray has property iiuldi'ugs of ovc one hundred thousand dollars in the plant. Any plan or method of con- ducting the affairs of Murray City that would contemplate an advance in the electrical energy charges would prove very iiiu'h against the public will Candidates for office in the coming city election will no fall due. 7. To practice cooperation with our business houses so that we may encourage the buying public to do their shopping in Murray City. 8. I am very much interested in the opening of Main street and am familiar with the conditions that confront this project. Should the county open and pave this street to our northern city limits, I will do my utmost to put it through to 48th South in a manner that will please those most concerned. 9. I stand for law enforcement, and will give the very best of cooperation in this matter. I thank you and will appreciate your vote at the primary election. PARLEY HARMON doubt be handicapped if they advocate an increase in electric rates. The names of those offered the public as aspirants for city offices up to the present are all advocates of the retention of the present rates. The pub lic will doubtless wish the present rates continued and will vide accordingly. Hie Murray Kagle is an ad vocate lor the proper sale Lctxoo Jep-w.i- Wed-licdu- Forum I respectfully submit my name for reelection to the position of Auditor of Murray City. The office held by me for the past two years has been filled conscientiously and faithfully and without discrimination or the seeking of favor or preferment of any kind. If reelected I assure the citizens of Murray a careful attention to the duties of Auditor. Your support will be appreciated and I thank the citizens of Murray for their generous support in the Mr. Harmon has been before the taxpayers cf this county for' the past twenty years as a public construction man, and has worked on some of the greatest improvements Murray City has had. In 1909 and 1910 when the Utah Light and Traction Co., cut State street down to grade and moved their track from the side to the center of the street, he was in charge of this work. Again in 1915 and 1916 when the state and county paved State street from Salt Lake to Midvale junction, he was superintendent of this work, and has been in charge of A good many other public construction jobs. He has always been progressive and has kept up with the growth of our city. He has built two homes in Murray and now resides at 4608 South State, in voting district number one. He is absolutely free and independent from any one man, group of men or politicians that may be seeking to control Murray City affairs, and for that reason can serve the taxpayer in a fair and just manner. Should he be elected, these are some of the principles and ideals by which he will be governed: I. I stand for a progressive, businesslike administration, yet am opposed to any more taxation than we are now having. 2. I am in favor of the budget system of operating so that the revenue and expenses of each department can be shown and a record kept of each. The different departments would not be allowed to draw from the general fund. 3. To protect and safeguard our power plant in the proper manner and to keep a careful record of the revenue and expenses of its operation, so that the taxpayers may know its real financial condition at any time. For many reasons, I am opposed to any raise in light or power rates. 4. In appointing the heads of departments, I would select men who are capable and efficient, who can handle their department in an economical manner and not carry any more men on the city payroll than is necessary, and who will treat them in a kind and courteous manner. 5. . I stand for furnishing th very best kind of support and equipment for our fire fepartment" so that the lives of these men may be protected while they are saving our homes and property from destruction by fire. 6. To create a sinking fund so that we may pay off any bonded indebtedness whenever it may J 1 t OF MURRAY PARLEY HARMON A CANDIDATE FOR THE CITIZENS guarding of the Murray Power l'laut and invites the patronage of the Murray district on this Friday evening, Septemlicr 0, the season ion In Murray tsissiiul platform.a ramble through the lake Ward will begin with an of The Murray Kagle Dorothea Baker of Og,n pages vaudeville lu which all or W.
