Six deputy sheriffs, recently indicted, by the Federal Grand Jury and suspended by the Cottonwood Stake county commissioners, are still holding onto the county payroll like grim death. The county commissioners, instead of sticking with their decision to oust the payroll fighters, have receded from their position and signed the pay checks of the indicted peace officers, and the tax payers of Salt Lake County may wonder what sort of an administration they are getting, but evidently there is one thing they can be sure of and that is that these noble sheriffs through thick and thi.1 indictment or no indictment are going to draw down their pay, come what may.
