Show V7 Mmmm JOURNAL IDVyVLE: VVJL,. J 3 1NO. - I ., 9 Established 1892 Murray City, Utah, Thursday, July, 14, 1927 . " f! r- - THOUSANDS FROLIC MURRAY YOUNG PEOPLE ADVOCATE AT MURRAY CITY SUPPORTING MURRAY MERCHANTS PARK, WEDNESDAY The following letters giving reasons why merchants should be supported by Murray all Murray residents have been received in response to the Eagle offer of a prize for Mm ray Please read and heed the counsel of these young folks who have given their time and thought to a question that means much to each and everyone living in or near Murray. " 7 Local Dealers. Dear Townspeople: Our merchants are here for us. Why shouldn't we patronize them? They labored long and hard to build up our city and if it is our purpose to ignore them, why have them at all? In patronizing other dealers, is it fair to ours? Are we giving them a square deal? No. Murray City is to prosper something must be done to teach the children and to teach parents that only by one patronizing our local merchants, can our city grow and prosper, and as a result live on forever in the hearts of those who love her. If Verna Berg Dear Sir- :- take pleasure in writing and emphasising, as far as it is in my power, the following reasons for supporting the merchants of Murray: My first reason is my father and brother earn a livelihood by working in I Murray and the immediate vicinities. have been working in a public office being paid I by the citizens of this town. I cannot think of more unfair action on my part than to trade outside the limits of Murray City. All the money which has gone to my support up to this time has come from the immediate vicinities of Murray. By supporting the local merchants, we keep the money in the city. In this way it benefits the business men and their companies and also helps the city because a part of the profits go into the city for things that help to build it up and make it a better place to live and trade in. One of the best reasons in my estimation is because it creates good feelings and good will between the business men and the residents. When all the merchants are patronized, it makes it possible for more and so more people of the comrememmunity are given work. We must ber that these men are striving to make a we living as well as other people and unless in turn help them, we are sure that they will not help us. Yours truly, em-ployme- nt Barr Miller held day, .luly l.'ith in every way. The weather was wonderful and certainly did Its part toward making the outing a real winner all around.
