Mr. Manzione was born of Italian parentage and reared a staunch Catholic, hence upon coming here, like many others, was more or less, predjudiced against the Mormons After a residence of several years among our people, however, and noting that the Mormons are indeed a goodly, a Christ-lik- e people, a generous people; kindly, lovable, charitable to a fault, ever ready to help the afflicted, to console the sorrowing, to care for the widows and orphans, to prove their good works by their deeds rather than by their words, he decided to cast his lot in with them and on Sept2Sth, 1919 he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints more commonly known as the Mormon Church and, like Ruth of old, said "Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee. for whither thou goest, I will go, and where thou lodges t,-- will lodge; thy people shal be my people, and thy God my God. Where thou diest will I die, and there will I be buried; the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part and me". And further as suit of careful study and investigation into the dogmas-trut- h and merits of the Mormon religion, Mr. Manzione became so enthused and absorbed in its doctrines and that he felt he must, like the beloved Paul, enter the service of his Master, and hus he has volunteered to carry the Gospel of Later Day Saints to his loved ones and friends of the East.
