Show , school nans By the Journalism Class of Milford High School was off we were without heat and hot water, making it very miserable for those who had to shower after PE classes or football practice. When the cold spell hit last week it was a little chilly, but when the heat was restored last Friday everything was back to normal If it hadn't been for good old George Sears going hunting for the coal loader, the school would have been colder. INTERESTING CRAFT ARTICLES The students are very busy in Arts and Crafts. There are many things and kinds of materials to work with, such as wood, plastic, leather and metal Some students are starting with leather, making quivers, and one student is making a saddle. A few boys are working with wood, making book cases and gun holders. NATIONAL BUSINESS MAGAZINE "Nation's Business," (Held over from last week) SOCK DANCE After the Tiger victory over the Lynx, the cheerleaders ponsored a sock dance" in the gym -- pub- lished by the U S Chamber of Commerce, will be received by the Milford High School Library each month. This highly rated executive magazine will be received by the school and used by the students thru a subscription given us by Eugene and Lloyd Mayer. We would like to thank the Mayer Brothers for this subscription . tveryone was in their stocking feet and there were shoes all over the place. Some mischievous person tied a group of shoes together in a pile, to the surprise and anger of their owners. Purpose of the dance was to raise money for the cheerleaders' fund. PRIMER TYPEWRITER Milford High School has purchased a new kind of typewriter. The machine is similar to a regular typewriter but the letters, numbers, etc., are three times as big. The typewriter is used to do various school publications, as well as headlines on articles for the school paper. HOME EC CLASS Mrs. Rimpau is getting the girls off to a good start in learning about the basic foods in cooking. The girls are learning about home making, and to cook different types of dishes. Later they will start sewing. NO HEAT OR HOT WATER Since school started the furnace has been shut off for repairs and new parts. The district convention will be held Oct. 16 in St. George. STUDENTS Auto WICHITA FLOATS UPON FLOATS Milford High School will be very busy until the 24th preparing for its big Homecoming Day. Every organization and each class will be working on one or more floats to the theme, "Moments to Remember." The Homecoming Queen and her attendants will ride on a beautiful float which will be furnished by the Lettermen's Club and the Tigerettes. FIRST ASSEMBLY The first assembly was for those students who represented the school last summer. The assembly was held last Friday. Boys Staters, Girls Staters, Red Cross Junior members, Yearbook and paper editors, and science representatives all gave informative speeches. Movies for the year have been selected, and they should be much more interesting this year. Classes and organizations were advised to announce tentative dates for assemblies and dances.
