County Organizing Convention was discussed, the date was set by County Chairman for April 10th. read the Beverly Farrer names of County Delegates. Discussion was made as to replacing County Delegates. It was decided that the Central Committee should replace vacancies. Question was raised as to whether the Committeemen elected in the mass meetings were to serve as county committeemen after the organization convention. Committee appointed Don Brinkerhoff, William Baker, Beulah Wood, Rondo Farrer, to report to the committee regarding this. Beverly Farrer discussed recommendations for the liquor stores Milford and Beaver. Stated the next business of the meeting was to make such recommendations. Motion was made by Dr. E. N. Davie that the Committee members from Beaver and Milford meet in separate caucus for the purpose of making separate recommendations to the whole Committee for the liquor store in their respective precincts. Motion was seconded by Mary Raines. Motion voted and passed. Motion was made by Sam Hickman that three names be brought back from the caucus for a vote by the entire committee. Motion seconded by Rondo Farrer. Motion voted on and passed. Howard Pryor asked permission for Minersville to vote in the caucus. After discussion it was decided that Minersville should vote with Milford and Greenville with Beaver. (Never came to a vote but decision allowed to pass unchallenged). Beverly Farrer gave the committee 15 minutes for caucus. Committee reconvened, Beverly Farrer conducting. Milford submitted three names for the Committee to vote on as follows: Margaret Wheeler, Dan Ferguson, Rolan Larson. Beaver submitted two names for the Committee to vote on as follows: Donald Brinkerhoff, 8, 1965 Fay Ashworth. Motion made by Dr. Davie that we vote on one ballot. Rondo Farrer, Seconded by voted on and passed. Balloting done. Question was raised as to who was on the committee and allowed to vote. Roll call of the committee by secretary. It was found that two of the voters from Minersville were not on the Central Committee. Balloting done again on the second vote. Votes counted, Dan Ferguson and Donald Brinkerhoff receiving the highest votes. Letter was read by secretary from Dr. Davie asking for the Committe's recommendation for the office of County Health Officer. Dr. Davie Discussion held. offered to leave while the discussion was held. Permission was given by Beverly Farrer. Howard Pryor discussed the action County Commissioners' on the office of Public Health Officer. He stated that a moin the tion had been made meetCounty Commissioners' ing by Commissioner Mayer that Dr. Davie be appointed as County Health Officer but the motion had died for lack of a second. He stated that no regular appointment had been made for the office. He stated that at one time Dr. Davie had been County Health Officer and had resigned. Motion by Sam Hickman that the matter of recommendation be tabled and a committee be appointed to Investigate the County Health Officers' position further. Also the secretary write the County Commission asking them to defer making an appointment for the office of County Health Officer until after the Central Committee had made a recommendation. Motion seconded by Hyrum Tolley. Passed. Motion made by Rondo Farrer that the chairman appoint the committee. Motion seconded by Howard Pryor. Motion voted on and passed. Motion made by Jean Hanley that we acecpt all the applications and vote until one received a majority. Seconded by Jesse Long, motion carried. Names presented to be voted on as follows: Dan Ferguson, Rudolph Nielsen, Rolan Larson, Maurine Miller, Marjorie Mecham, Thomas James, Margaret Wheeler, Robert Slinkerd, Ora Burke. Chairman chose Hyrum Tolley, William Baker, Jesse Long as counters.
